THE BREW BENCH / TASTE

Keep the good cups.

Save recipes and tasting experiments in this browser, compare two cups, export your notes and start the next experiment.

Describe the cup, liking & confidence separately

Optional 1–5 descriptive scales: low → high intensity; body: light → heavy; clarity: blended → distinct. These are your perceptions, not objective quality scores. A high bitterness or acidity rating need not mean dislike.

Saved only in this browser on this device. Clearing site data removes notes; export a backup first. Imports are validated and added to existing notes, then displayed by the original saved date. Equal timestamps keep their storage order. Caffeine estimates are never saved here.

Compare observations, not imaginary scores

Save two coffees using the same method, water, ratio and temperature. Choose any two saved entries for a focused comparison, including non-adjacent cups or an earlier buying brief. The latest entries appear first; older notes remain in the complete list. Imports retain their original dates. Describe the seven sensory attributes separately from liking and confidence, and keep the original shopping question with the resulting cup. A sweeter result after changing both roast and grind does not prove which change caused it. Record the experiment you actually ran.

Saved recipes from the brew planner include their selected values and assumptions. You can reopen their link, export everything or delete individual notes. Read the home tasting protocol.
